Vaping CBD oil is not only one of the most popular ways to enjoy CBD, but it is also one of the most effective ways to enjoy it. Learn about vaping CBD in our latest guide!
Vaping has been on the scene for a while now. What started as an alternative to smoking cigarettes has grown into a full-blown obsession for people who have never smoked at all. Just about anything can be vaporized—essential oils, flavored ingredients, natural compounds. It was only natural that cannabis (including hemp) would eventually meet up with vape and marry to create one of the most unique ways ever to enjoy the effects of cannabinoids.
Now, vaping CBD oil is one of the most preferred methods of consumption. But, how do you vape CBD oil and why would you? Here’s your beginner’s guide to all that and more.
An Introduction to Vaping CBD Oil
Whether you are totally new to CBD or already an experienced CBD user, vaping has its attractive qualities. Vaping CBD is not hard. Some may say vaping is one of the easiest ways to consume CBD. Here’s how it’s done.
How to Vape CBD Oil
Essentially, vaping CBD oil means you inhale vaporized CBD. Therefore, the CBD oil must be transformed into vapor form. A number of devices exist that do this and they all work in different ways, but the general idea is the device has a receptacle that holds the oil, a mouthpiece for inhaling the vapors, and an atomizer that heats the oil to a vapor point. You hit a button, the atomizer heats up the oil, the vapors are fed through the mouthpiece, you inhale, and you exhale. It really is that simple.
Ways to Vape CBD Oil
You have a number of options to vape CBD oil, each with its own advantages. The typical options include:
- CBD vape oils and e-liquids – CBD vape oils and e-liquids are not the same things as regular CBD oil. These products are created by incorporating CBD extract into an oil that is considered okay for inhalation. The oils or e-liquids can then be used in your own vaporizer, vaping mod, vape, etc.
- Disposable CBD vape pens – Disposable CBD vape pens are a convenient vaping unit that comes pre-filled with CBD oil. These pens generally last for up to so many puffs and can simply be thrown away when the incorporated oil is used up.
- Prefilled CBD vape liquid cartridges – Pre-filled CBD cartridges (often referred to as carts) are small tanks that are designed to be used along with an existing atomizer or vaping mod. You simply insert or attach the pre-filled cart or tank and use the liquid until it’s spent.
The option you choose is up to you, but many people do prefer the convenience of disposable CBD vape pens because they are small and discreet, clean, and super simple to use. Plus, it makes it inexpensive to try several types of CBD because you’re not investing in a full bottle of vape juice or pre-filled tank or set of carts.
The Advantages of Vaping CBD Oil
Now that you know how to vape CBD, you may be wondering why you should. Here’s a quick rundown of the many benefits of vaping CBD oil.
Vaping offers users a variety of flavors and blends
People enjoy general vaping because it allows room for so much personalization, and vaping CBD oil is no different. You can pick and choose from a litany of fun flavors, strains, and blends. For example, at TIMBR ORGANICS, you can pick from hemp strains like Fire OG and Jack Herer in our hemp disposable vape pens. It’s so easy to create your own custom experience that you prefer with vaping CBD.
Vaping is a popular alternative to smoking
Smokable hemp flower is great in its own respect; it offers a traditional, familiar experience and has a unique set of advantages. However, some people enjoy vaping CBD oil as an alternative to smoking CBD because it’s clean and easy. You don’t have ashes, there’s no need for a lighter or an ashtray, and you can vape in most places without leaving any lingering odors.
Vaping is casual and enjoyable
Even though smoking hemp is growing more and more acceptable, you may prefer to get your dose of cannabinoids in a more casual, discreet way. CBD vapes are definitely that. You can find vape pens that are slim and discreet and are a breeze to carry in a pocket or purse. Pull out your CBD vape pen when you want a drag, take a puff, and watch as the vapor you exhale vanishes. You won’t be leaving lingering odors, so no one will know you’re reaping the benefits of vaping CBD oil even if you’re sitting right beside them.
Vaping delivers faster effects of CBD
Vaping and smoking CBD delivers the cannabinoids right to your system in one of the fastest ways possible. In fact, inhalation may be the fastest way to feel the onset of CBD effects. According to experts, you could feel a difference in as little as 15 minutes. With other types of CBD products, such as CBD edibles, you may not feel the effects for at least an hour or more.
Vaping delivers a higher bioavailability of CBD
Consuming cannabinoids and terpenes directly into your lungs leads them into the bloodstream quickly. The CBD does not have to go through any other process before it gets to your system, which means you get more CBD and a more powerful entourage effect. Ingesting CBD in other ways, such as with oils or edibles, diminishes bioavailability because concentrations of the cannabinoid are diminished during the digestion process.
Vaping may help relieve stress and anxiety
One of the most noteworthy attributes of CBD is its ability to induce a sense of calm and support a more relaxed state. The cannabinoid has even been looked at for a potential treatment for anxiety disorders. Individuals who have anxiety often find themselves extremely stressed in certain moments, so a fast-acting, discreet CBD vape pen could really be beneficial.
Vaping CBD Oil: Frequently Asked Questions
By now, you’re probably almost ready to get started vaping CBD. You know how to vape CBD and understand why you would want to. Let’s look at a few big questions you may still have hanging around.
Q. Does Vaping CBD Get You High?
Just like smoking hemp will not get you high, vaping CBD oil is not going to either. Keep in mind, CBD vape products are derived from hemp, and these products must be below the 0.3 percent THC threshold in order to be legal nationwide. THC is an intoxicating cannabinoid, but you are only getting fractional amounts of THC by vaping a hemp-based, full-spectrum CBD product.
Q. How Does it Feel to Vape CBD Oil?
CBD delivers a lot of the same effects no matter how you use it, but there can always be variances depending on the consumption method. While there is yet to be established research about how vaping CBD makes you feel, we do know what most people say. In general, vaping CBD may make you feel a bit more relaxed or at ease. As an adage, if you are using the CBD for a specific purpose, such as to help with pain, you reap the advantage of feeling effects faster.
Q. Do You Have to Be 18 to Vape CBD Oil?
You do have to be at least 18 to vape CBD oil. Depending on the state where you live, you may have to be either 18 or 21 to even buy CBD vape products. In addition, some retailers make their own decisions about how old you have to be to buy their CBD vape products. For instance, a retailer in a state that requires buyers to be 18 may still require their buyers to be 21.

I want to make the switch from cbd to cbd oil after trying it last week. The problem is I don’t know what dosage should start with? Should I stick with just 3-4 puffs the first time?
Hey Tim,
Thanks for your question and a great decision. When comparing consuming CBD oil sublingually vs vaping CBD oil, your dosage may not be exactly the same since vaping CBD will deliver a higher bioavailability of CBD to the body. In addition, the optimal dosage of CBD varies from person to person. That said, I suggest starting off with a minimal dose, let’s call it 3-4 puffs at a time. Wait to see how you feel, then increase or maintain that dosage based on the results. The great thing about vaping CBD oil is that you can really dial in on finding your perfect dosage + you can also micro-dose throughout the day. I hope this answers your question! Feel free to reach back if you need further clarification or have another question.
By the way, have you had a chance to check out our hemp disposables? If not, you should definitely check them out :)
Thanks,

Total noob here! A friend recommended I start vaping cbd for my anxiety so here I am…
I started vaping for arthritis and I was shocked that I noticed some improvements after going through the first pen.
This quarantine has been truly something else… I’m way too nervous and I really don’t want to start popping pills like a mad man.
Thanks for the tips! I want to start vaping to unwind but this is new territory so I need to make sure I know what I’m doing.
It sucks that in California you have to be 21 to vape…
